Just to make things easier, we've included a quick reference sheet below that can be used to quickly determine how to do various formatting things in mediawiki.

Alternate link text link. You can use a | between the article title and the alternate link text.

Link to external URL. The first space seperates the URL from the link text.

Wikipedia article on Bloomington [[WikiPedia:Bloomington,_Indiana|Wikipedia article on Bloomington]]

Interwiki link. The colon charcter seperates the wiki name from the article name. For WikiPedia, this goes to the English version by default.

Bold text '''Bold text'''

Make text within the triple single quotes boldface.

Italics ''Italics''

Make text within the double single quotes italics.

A space at the beginning of a line

Putting a space before content at the beginning of a line creates a box around that content with a dashed border.

User timestamp signature. The four tildes (~) is what does it. Putting a dash or two in front of it is good form. Like this: -- ~~~~

Prevent wiki processing <nowiki></nowiki>

Put these nowiki tags around anything that you want to be interpreted literally and not be interpreted as wiki shorthand.
