Talk:Irish Lion

From Bloomingpedia

It is unclear how old Irish Lion is. On their website they say they are in their 24th year, which would be 1982. However their logo says "since 1882". Maybe they left off a 1 in their text? -- Fjanis 18:40, 15 March 2006 (GMT)

I noticed that, too. It was my primary motivation for going to the library and looking them up. I'll have more info on when everything started up within the next several months. -Chrobb 21:13, 15 March 2006 (GMT)

I think I can Help....

The business of the "Irish Lion" started in 1982, but the building was built in 1882 as an Inn. It had a full bar downstairs and six rooms upstairs for boarders. If you notice that the way to the bathroom is on the left, look up and you can see where the wall previously existed. Also look at the walls where there used to be a flue for a fireplace in each room. The building still has the remains of an Ice storage room in the back, and all the tubes for its gas lighting. The building was built to be a bar, has been one ever since. So, saying "since 1882" is correct as well as saying the "25th Year in business"

I can help too! The business began in 1982, it has been a "Food & Drink Establishment Since 1882" It is now in it's 25th year.
