One Step Above is a dance studio that participates in both competitive competitions as well as recreational activities for less advanced students or beginning students. One Step Above is owned by Tami Aburns. The studio is open at around 3:00pm and closes around 9:30-10:00pm. One Step Above offers classes in many styles of dance: Tap, Jazz, Modern, Clogging, Pon-pons, Lyrical, Ballet, and Acro. (tumbling or gymnastics) Students ages three through eighteen participate in the company. No younger and no older.

Awards

One Step Above has held many recitals and participated in numerous competitions over the years. One Step Above is one of the only studios in Indiana that has won a National dance championship (citation needed). All are welcome to join the studio for the company's recital groups, but to be part of the competition teams you must first try-out.

The studio is not all about winning. One Step Above teaches its students work ethic, responsibility, and commitment . Above all else though the studio wants all of its students to have fun! Appreciation for dance is taught by the studio to all students.
