The Rudrananda Ashram was a spiritual community whose principal building was located at the corner of Washington Street and 8th Streets. It was led by Swami Chetanananda and operated roughly between 1971 and 1982. Public relations issues led Swami Chetanananda to relocate the Ashram to Boston. Around 1992 it relocated again to the Portland, Oregon area.
