Talk:Old State Road 37

From Bloomingpedia

Lincolnway

It has been my observation that, at least in northern Indiana and northern Illinois, these decommissioned segments of US 30 are often named "Lincolnway". Like SR130 in Valparaiso. I suspect that when these US-30 Bypasses were brand spanking new, the local highway departments didn't want to confuse people by calling the old segments (which were retained as local streets and often dead-ended) a "highway"-- even if prefixed with "old". --BirdieGalyan 11:23, 22 February 2009 (EST)
