Tom Crean signs autographs at the Indiana State Fair

Michigan native Tom Crean was named head coach of the IU Men's Basketball Team on April 1st, 2008. Formerly the coach at Marquette University, Crean averaged more than 20 wins a season over nine years. He was able to attract and develop several stars to the Marquette program, including Dwyane Wade, Travis Diener, and Steve Novak. Prior to coaching at Marquette, Crean was an assistant coach for four years at Michigan State under coach Tom Izzo.

Crean was fired by Indiana on March 16, 2017. In 2018, he was hired as the head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs.

Crean is married and has three children.
