BAKERsJUNCTION.com Bakers Junction Railroad Museum was started in 1976 by me I am John F Baker a 100% disabled veteran I had hoped to get it set up & fixed up be fore I die so I cod leave something be hind for all to in joy but I cant do it with out some help. I am amazed at how much I have dun with so little help I saved & moved in 2 ceinture old train stations to start the Railroad Museum & I added 4 train cars 3 cabooses out building a water tower a play ground with a time castle & I have it all sat up & people are welcome to stop by. Things are going good considering the terrible & unnecessary sat backs we have suffered you mite thank my having bone cancer and lousing my hip & leg bone & having over 30 operation leaving me unable to walk on my own would be the worst thing that cod have happened but it was not , In a lot of ways I am a very lucky man I survived war bone cancer I tore my right leg off but they saved it I have had have some deadly infections but I survived it all . Me & my wife Cheryl have ben to gather for 30 years and have 3 kids & 2 grand kids & I have my navy pention & being a 100% disabled veteran the VA takes care of my medical needs but I am too crippled up to fix up Bakers Junction Railroad Museum . The first 20 years saving & sating up the RxR museum was hard but things went good until 1995 when Tin Talton past his new Planing & Zoning county wide master plan & they decided that even tho we had the right zoning & all the right permits & we where legally grand fathered in they would go ahead & illegally attack destroy & get rid of the RxR Museum . For over 3 years they tried every thing to force us to close the RxR Museum our permits disappeared out of there fills but I had my coopies so for 3 years they force us in to court & P&Z meeting they went over every permit every building & train car but they did not found one thing wrong not one leally reason for attacking Bakers Junction Railroad Museum, Yes we won if you call lousing every thing wining we lost a lot more than the $100,000.00 dollars we had to take out a first & secant montage have an auction & sale ever thing we had & we where forced in to bank recipe . Bakers Junction Railroad Museum survived the illegal & unjustified commie planing & zoning attack but now we owe more than ever we lost so much all the railroad antiques are gone I lost me stone business & I was working so much my bone infection came back & I lost my hip & leg bone so now I cant walk with out a crutch . Its steal hard for me to believe that they cod illegally attack a 100% disabled veteran & try to force hem & his family off there land all because we sat up a railroad museum 10 miles out in the country & not in Bloomington IN. Bakers Junction Railroad Museum needs finical help I cant get a decent lone on the place I am lucky I have a good income but the banks wont give me a home lone because they call it a business & I cant get a business lone because its museum & I don’t make any money on it , So now I am paying 20 & 30% intrust on the $60,000.00 I do owe on the place if I cod get a good lone of $200,000.00 at a fair intrust rate it would save me $75,000.00 , The fact that I have a good guaranteed income & can make the payments & I have ben hear work & making payments for 30 years just dos not mean much . Dave Shilling the Planing & Zoning Attorney was right when he told me they would destroy Bakers Junction Railroad Museum one way or another ! we have the right zoning & permits but that did not stop them from illegally attacking us for over 3 years & bankrupting us they though if it cost me more to protect the Railroad Museum than it was worth I would give up & move but Bakers Junction is not just a Museum or a home it’s a way of life I sat up to give me something to do with me life & I will be hear working on it until I die & when I am gone I will die happy living a railroad museum be hind for all to enjoy.
