Japanee is a Japanese restaurant and sushi bar in downtown Bloomington at the corner of Walnut Street and 8th Street. It opened Wednesday February 8th, 2006. They serve both cooked french-inspired speciality rolls in addiition to raw Japanese-style food. They also carry a selection of Japanese beers (Sapporo, Kirin, Asahi).
Originally named "Japonais," they had to change their name to "Japanee" in 2006 since the name was already being used by an existing restaurant franchise with locations in Chicago, New York, and Las Vegas.
Also, something to notice is the Karaoke rooms that could fit about 10 people and pretty popular on weekend nights until very late.
