Mr. D's was a grocery store located at 512 S. College Mall Rd. in Bloomington. It was actually the second store of a two store chain that was bought out by O'Malia Food Market in the early 2000s. Mr D's was known for having higher quality foods than most bigger chain grocer stores as well as a more local feel. They may have also been one of the first grocery stores in Bloomington to offer customer discount cards.
The Mr. D's chain of stores reached their peak of seven stores located throughout central Indiana in the late 1990s, most of the stores were located in and around Indianapolis. The stores got their name from the Dietel family and were run up until the end by the founder's son, Mark Dietel.
