Talk:Williamsburg Village

From Bloomingpedia

Montgomery Ward

I'm researching old Montgomery Ward locations (don't ask) and was surprised they used to have two in Bloomington. One was on 6th street just east of the square, but I found a few hits saying there was one in Williamsburg Village. It must have been a catalog outlet, but I can't find anything else about it. (My guess is the one on 6th (http://webapp1.dlib.indiana.edu/archivesphotos/results/item.do?itemId=P0040054) was around in the mid-30s to the 60s/early 70s, and then they opened a catalog outlet on the east side from the 70s up to maybe 80s.)

I'll keep digging and add more if I find it. (This is an absolutely Sisyphean task - any web searches bring you to the "new" Wards, and there's not a lot of exact history online of the old one.) --Jkonrath (talk) 14:10, 20 September 2019 (EDT)

BTW the Wards in the picture above was at 108 E. 6th Street, which is now Function Brewing. --Jkonrath (talk) 18:04, 23 September 2019 (EDT)
