- IU Men's Basketball wins the NCAA Championship
- The John Nice property at 11th Street and College Avenue, including a brick mansion that was owned by James Woodburn, is purchased by the Ohio Oil Company. The structures, along with the Showers homes at 8th Street and Walnut Street, and the Poolitsan home at 10th Street and Walnut Street, were to be torn down and replaced with gas stations.
Nellie Showers Teter sells her home at 528 N. Walnut Street to Universal Underwriters. She had lived in the home for 40 years.
