  • Located on the southeast corner of the courthouse square in Bloomington
  • Funded in part by a bequest in the will of Williamson Martin Alexander
  • Designed by George Washington Bunting, Jr. of Indianapolis
  • Built by the Fifer Construction Company
  • Dedicated July 4, 1928
  • The statue at top of the pillar, carved by Graf & McIlveen, Architectural Sculptors and Carvers, was installed shortly after the dedication
