Highway 46 Pedestrian Bridge

From Bloomingpedia
A common sight when driving west

This bridge was probably created so that school children from the neighborhoods on the south side of Highway 46 could walk to school safely. It is a landmark when driving along 46 and is also used for hanging event advertisements. Every year on the 4th of July the bridge is packed with people to watch the fireworks at Memorial Stadium.

In 2007 a sign showing where to go for Memorial Stadium parking was added on the west side of the bridge.

Geo-caching

This bridge was the location of a geo-cache, but the maintainer took it away because it was blown off the bridge too many times. Geo-cachers would report that when looking for this cache, cars below would honk at them.
