The Indiana University Provost and executive vice president is the chief academic officer for the Bloomington campus. The position is currently held by Lauren Robel.

The provost is the chief officer over academics at the university. The provost sets budget policy for programs as well as for promotions and tenure. All deans report to the provost.

The post of provost was created in 2006. The provosts have been:

  • Michael McRobbie (2006-2007)
  • Karen Hanson (2007-2012)
  • Lauren Robel (2012-Present)
