The firm began as a partnership between longtime Bloomington lawyers Andrew Mallor and Geoffrey Grodner in 1988. At its peak it was a firm of 23 lawyers and 24 other staff members in an elegant office complex on Woodcrest Drive.
In 2004, Mallor, Grodner, and Gary Clendening were named Super Lawyers by Law & Politics magazine.
Mallor specializes in family law, while Grodner practices business law and Clendening, insurance cases.
The firm represented Indiana Data Processing for a time.
In 2010, the firm split in two. Gary Clendening, Lonnie Johnson, James Bohrer, Stacy Thompson, and Pamela Hensler began Clendening Johnson & Bohrer, PC located at Patterson Drive and Rogers Street, over Sweet Grass.
Clendening Johnson & Bohrer is a general practice firm focusing on business transactions, construction and real estate law and estate planning for small businesses and professionals, as well as litigation and insurance defense.
Andrew Mallor, Geoffrey Grodner, Kendra Gjerdingen and Garry Founds remained at the Woodscrest Drive site as Mallor Grodner, LLP, focusing on family law, business law, estate planning and employment law. The partnership also has an Indianapolis office.
