Thubten Norbu (d. September 5th, 2008) was the eldest brother of the 17th and current Dalai Lama. He lived in Bloomington and was a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Central Eurasian Studies at Indiana University. His widow, Kunyang Norbu owns and operates Cafe Django. Their son, Jigme Norbu, owns the Snow Lion restaurant and Bazaar Cafe.
