Kirkwood Design Studio
From Bloomingpedia
Kirkwood Design Studio is a local architecture and design firm. Run by Mary Krupinski and Marc Cornett, the studio is involved in designs for both public and private buildings and planned developments in Bloomington, as well as various private homes. Dawn Grey is another architect on staff. They were involved in the West Kirkwood Avenue redesign in the year 2000, and also designed much of Walnut Center and the new Regester Parking Garage.
Often working closely with MCCSC, the firm designed the athletic facilities at Batchelor Middle School and will design the new or renovated Fairview Elementary School. It is not known if these contracts are placed for competitive bids.
Their design for the CRAFT Stone Age Institute won awards from the Associated Builders and Contractors of Indiana and the Indiana Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. (See [1])
Other buildings designed by the firm include:
- Prospect Hill Place at 511 W. 4th Street
- The Rev. E.D. Butler Public Housing Community
- A new development at 11th Street and Morton Street
- The South Dunn Street development in the mid-2000s
