Talk:Chipotle

From Bloomingpedia

There seems to be a small flock of McDonald's stores that have failed in B'ton and I wonder if they franchises had a common owner. Didn't both the one in College Mall and just north of College Mall (like on Pete Ellis) both go under? I wonder if all three had the same owner and they just weren't on top of things. I know that the actual land and physical store are owned by the McDonald's corporation, which would explain why they swapped in a Chipotle. --Jkonrath 16:14, 2 May 2006 (EDT)

I had heard from a friend that worked in the College Mall McD's that they closed because the one on 3rd Street and Pete Ellis Drive was taking care of most of the business in the area already. I have no idea about the ownership of these stores. Chris 22:07, 2 May 2006 (EDT)
Another mitigating circumstance is that the one in College Mall went out during their big remodel in the late 90s. It could have been Simon jacking up rents post-remodel that drove them out, or that a McD's just didnt "work" with the mall's new look or philosophy. It seems like that location was always busy, but it also had very little room to sit.
BTW, is the one on 3rd Street and Pete Ellis Drive still open? I checked the McDonald's web site, and it isn't listed. --Jkonrath 10:28, 3 May 2006 (EDT)
Oh yeah, the Pete Ellis McD's is still there and clogging up the intersection at 8AM when people need their McGriddle fix. :-) -Chrobb 10:53, 3 May 2006 (EDT)

McDonald's Ownership

Chipotle isn't owned by McDonald's anymore. MCD was a majority investor, but they were fully divested by 2006. --Jkonrath (talk) 18:26, 3 April 2019 (EDT)

Looks like I wrote that back in 2006. You can also tell by my use of 'actually' in writing. I need to stop using that word so much. Why am I allowed to edit a wiki? ;)-- Mark (talk) 06:07, 4 April 2019 (EDT)
