The Little 500

The Little 500 is an annual bicycle race held at Bill Armstrong Stadium on the campus of Indiana University. It has been running since 1951 and is one of the most definitive events of Indiana University and Bloomington. It was dramatized in the Oscar winning movie Breaking Away in 1979.

Current Events
The 2007 Women's Little 5 will happen at 4:00pm on Friday, April 20th. The Men's Little 5 will be ridden at 2:00pm on April 21st. Both events will take place at Bill Armstrong Stadium.

History
- 1951 - The first Little 5 was won by the men of Collins Cravens hall, "The Buccanneers".
- 1991 - Rioters at Varsity Villas overturn cars and light them on fire, leading to 400 arrests.
- 2008 - Senator Barack Obama visits Bloomington and stops by the Women's Race
